Keynote speaker, Dan Ebert, was recently appointed Chairperson of the Public Service Commission by Governor Jim Doyle. He has extensive experience in government service, public administration and policy development, focusing on utility, energy and telecommunications issues. For 14 years he worked in both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, which included legislative experience with the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. Before joining the PSC he was the Transition Personnel Director for the Doyle Administration.

The Schlitz Audubon Nature Center is a green building with many features designed to minimize energy demand. There is extensive use of a natural light and a photovoltaic solar system donated by WE, which reduces electricity demand by 10-20%. The building uses 90 groundwater wells for heating and cooling, reducing the need for consumption of fossil fuels. The tours will present these and other green features of the building.

Directions: The Schlitz Audubon Nature Center: go east on Brown Deer Road towards Lake Michigan. The nature center is east of both I-43 and Lake Dr., on the south/right side of Brown Deer Rd.
