Free bus from Green Bay/Appleton to Madison to testify at hearing on Clean Energy Jobs Act bill

Special interests and opponents of clean energy are working to stack the public hearing on Feburary 15 in the State Capitol. We need YOU to help deliver simple, strong messages in support of clean energy.
Join us and take a bus sponsored by Clean Wisconsin from Milwaukee to the public hearing on the Clean Energy Jobs Act in Madison (monumental legislation to address global warming, renewable energy, and energy efficiency in Wisconsin).
Date: February 15, 2010
Time: 7:00 a.m.—6:00 p.m.
Location: State Capitol, Madison. Bus will depart from the Yonkers at the Bay Park Square Mall in Green Bay at 7:00 a.am. and the Yonkers at the Fox Valley Mall in Appleton at 7:30 p.m.

You’re becoing a broken record. Here’s what I wrote in response to you once before on this blog. (I might add that the hostility toward wind energy from people like you drives companies to more friendly places. Why would a wind-energy business move to Wisconsin and when citizens don’t welcome them?)
For instance, you wrote, “If RENEW thinks they are going to save the day by making wind turbine blades and bearings, I have a news flash for you, these parts will continue to come from manufactures that have been making them for 20 years and are all off shore.”
Here are a few NEW businesses serving the wind industry in Wisconsin:
Tower Tech, Manitowoc, makes turbine towers. Started 5 or 6 years ago.
Wave Wind LLC of Sun Prairie, formed in 2007, is partnering with Hyundai Heavy Industries — the world’s largest ship builder and a diversified industrial manufacturer based in Seoul, South Korea, with more than $15 billion in annual sales — to develop a Wisconsin wind farm.
American Superconductor Corp., which has its wind power business based in Middleton.
The Devens, Mass.-based company on Tuesday announced that it has received a $450 million order from Beijing-based Sinovel Wind Corp. to provide core electrical components. YES! A Wisconsin company selling components to CHINA!
Energy Composites Corporation announced the launch of its comprehensive WindFiber™ composites-in-wind-energy program. WindFiber™ is the strategic umbrella under which we carry out our wind-related innovation, engineering, customer proposition, production and services planning, and logistics activities to drive value for the sector.
Sam Fairchild, ECC’s CEO, stated that “Our comprehensive strategy platform — which we have named WindFiber™ — brings us full square into delivering value across all three channels:

Kitfox, The Clean Energy Jobs Act bill enhances development of all forms of renewable energy, including ethanol (from crops raised right here in Wisconsin) and biodigesters (that produce electricity or biogas from Wisconsin cows on Wisconsin farms).

RENEW and Clean WI push wind turbines. I saw at least 3 toy turbines on MR. Vickerman’s desk in a recent video.
The interesting thing about this is the toys have about the same potential to produce dispatchable electricity as the real 400′ turbines that are ruining peoples lives and property value.

A turbine tower can be purchased from Korea and shipped to Madison cheaper than you can get one from Tower Tech, Manitowoc.
The Wave Wind LLC latest attempt at shoehorning turbines in Dane county has again been found to be a hazard to navigation.
I wish the new Co. in Rapids all the luck in the world, but they will never be competitive in the world market with their blades.
It’s not that I don’t want wind energy. I want it done responsibly with people included in the equation.
If Gov. Doyle and your lobby groups want turbines so badly them put them all on state land. The state owns more land in WI than anyone else. No permit would be required, construction could start immediately, and the state could sure use the revenue at $7000.00 per turbine. No sound studies to fake, no bird, bat, or bee studies would be required. Are you shaking your head NO about the use of state land? Remember you accused me of being a NIMBY at one point. No transmitting lines you say, build them, at least that would be a few jobs for WI citizens.
